FIGHTING STIGMA STILL A CHALLENGE FOR HIV+ AUSTRALIANS

On December 1st, the United Nations recognised World AIDS Day, celebrating the efforts of communities to eradicate HIV/AIDS.

​

Australia's response to the epidemic since the 1980s has been hugely successful, but the stigma surrounding the illnesses and those affected by it still has very damaging effects in society today, as I learnt speaking to Dr Jennifer Power and Dr Joel Anderson from the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society.
